"As a Year 1 school teacher, I have used Usborne books before. They are some of the best books I have come across for use in the classroom. Well written and illustrated and very engaging for young children. They have all the features of non fiction texts so work well for teaching children about these features as well as the subject contained in the books. The books are also supported by appropriate links to different web sites. This particular book is excellent but would probably be best suited to a very able Y1 or any Y2 class."

"This book has been very helpful for my 4yr old boy. He has so many questions, and after a while it gets tricky answering them all. So I bought a selection of books on how things work, to read together. This one in particular has really caught his attention, we read it over and over, and talk about it at meal times (and during toilet visits!). It is simple enough for him, without skimping on detail."
