علا تحب القلوب، ترسمها وتختار لها ألوانًا مستوحاة من المكان الذي ترسم فيه. رسمت قلبًا أخضر للخروف، وقلبًا بنيًّا على الشاطىء للأسماك، وقلبًا أزرق على الطائرة الورقية للطيور، وقلبًا أحمر للزهرة. وذات ليلة شتاء تقرر وهي نائمة في حضن أمها أن ترسم قلب أمها، وتلونه بالأصفر؛ لأنه دافئ كالشمس. فكرة القصة شيقة، وتعلم الأطفال ربط الألوان بالمشاعر والمعاني. كما أن وصف الطبيعة والقلوب بالألوان الجميلة يجذب اهتمام الأطفال، ويعلمهم حب الطبيعة.

Ola loves hearts and draws them all the time. The colors she chooses for the hearts are inspired by different settings in the story. She draws a green heart for the lamb and a red one for the flower. One winter night, Ola decides that the color of her mother’s heart has to be yellow because it is warm like the sun. The colorful description of the scenery in the story make it a visually stimulating read for kids and teaches them to embrace nature and associate colors with feelings and meanings.
