An innovative educational game for teaching vocabulary: nouns, verbs, synonyms, and antonyms.
100 words of vocabulary that enhance a child's language, most of which are not common, but it is good to acquire, understand and use them in speaking and writing.
Its concept is simple and any group of children can play it right away.
Children can come up with other ways to play as well.
It attracts children to the Arabic language and makes them enjoy learning it.
Box contents:
Words snail painting
100 vocabulary cards, distributed as follows:
25 noun cards / 25 verb cards / 25 synonym cards / 25 antonym cards.
4 soldiers in different colors, and a large size for children's safety.
One die.
What is the idea behind the word spiral?
The idea is for children to acquire vocabulary skills by understanding a large number of words, knowing their meanings, and their basic classification into nouns and verbs, as well as synonyms and antonyms. This will make it easier for them to understand these words in the different contexts in which they appear, whether in oral (listening) or written (reading) learning. It will also make it easier for them to use this vocabulary in oral (conversation) and written (writing) production.
Educational objective:
In our word spiral, our main goal is:
To equip the child with as many of the vocabulary words as possible that are found on the cards.
For older children, the teacher or mother can increase the benefit of this game by asking them to put the word in a meaningful sentence.
Or if the word in the synonyms group requires them to mention its opposite, or to form the verb from the noun, and so on.
Number of players:
1- 4 players.
How to play:
Each player chooses the color of the soldier they want.
The first player throws the die, and according to the number that appears, he moves his pawn and stands on the square, and looks at its color.
The next player draws a card from the set corresponding to the color of the box where he stopped, and the question is read to him.
If he knows the answer, he stays in his place; if he does not know it, he returns to the first box.
The turn then passes to the next person, who just had the question read to them. But when they stand at the designated box, the next person will draw a card and read the question to them, in the same way as before.
The one who reaches the end first is the winner.
Advantages of the Word Snail game:
The Arabic language and its vocabulary are presented in an unconventional way.
It does not stop at the level of common words that are easy for everyone to understand, but gives players a higher and more sophisticated level of language.
One child can play it with one adult who is not involved in the game, but simply reads the questions to him.
This game is not tied to a specific age; anyone of any age can play it.
It can be developed and used for many other activities besides vocabulary acquisition, such as creating sentences and knowing synonyms and antonyms.
Questions other than meanings (synonyms or antonyms) may include things like plurals, the connotations of certain expressions, and so on.
